Hi, I’m Breffni-Anne. I’m a writer and creator based in the sunny South East of Ireland, living a life rooted in slowness, intention, and the things that truly matter.

This space is where I share that life honestly — the food I cook from scratch, the books that occupy my mind, the countryside I’m learning to forage and grow in, the places I explore slowly, and what it really means to raise a family with presence rather than pace.

Before all of this, I spent over a decade building a marketing career — from Fiverr copywriter to Brand & Marketing Strategy Manager, working with healthcare brands, winning Spider Awards, and co-leading rebrands… I was good at it. I loved it. And then I became a mother, and everything shifted.

Slowing down was not a trend I stumbled across. It was a choice I made when I finally understood what mattered most. And I have never looked back.

where it all began

Words have always been my thing. As a child, I spent hours scribbling short stories in notebooks, lost in the little worlds I created. That love for storytelling naturally led me to study English Literature at university, where I immersed myself in the beauty and power of language.

I never imagined I could build a career out of writing. Growing up, “writer” meant novelist or journalist and neither felt quite right. Instead, I decided to go into teaching. During my time at university, I kept my creative writing muscle well exercised by starting a blog where I shared my learnings on self-care, growing up, and learning to life more sustainably.

It wasn’t until I met my partner, who works in online publishing, that I realised I could get paid to write. I started offering services on Fiverr and, to my surprise, clients came flooding in. From there, I moved into agency work, writing copy for skincare and health supplement brands, and then into an in-house role as a Content Manager for a medtech software company.

From that role, I transitioned to Marketing & Brand Strategy Manager and wore every marketing hat — from designing new services to managing rebrands, from leading cross-functional campaigns to overseeing all content creation. During my time there, our team won multiple awards, including a Spider Award for Best Digital Brand and Best Collaboration for a website rebrand project I co-led.

But despite loving the challenge, I knew I wanted something different. I had always had a deep love for food, wellness, and intentional living, shaped by my decade working as a chef and my own journey towards a slower, more meaningful life. And when motherhood arrived and my career came to an abrupt halt on my first day back from maternity leave, everything crystallised.

I stopped. I reflected. And I chose to build something that felt true to who I actually am.

a few things about me

happiest by the water

saltwater fixes almost everything. splashing in the sea is my reset button

always crafting

painting, drawing, crocheting (sort of). pottery is next on my list

gothic lit obsessive

working through a self-assigned classic syllabus. bronte never misses

music for every mood

every genre, every occasion. yes, including heavy metal

90s butter mum

the good butter, always. slow mornings, linen everything, zero apologies

a romantic at heart

I find magic in the ordinary — light dancing on the waves, a really good cup of tea, the satisfying crunch of leaves

what I believe in

slow living

slowness is not laziness

Taking time to do things well, to be present, and to choose intentionally is one of the most radical things you can do in a world that rewards speed above all else.

honesty over perfection

I share the real version of slow living — not the curated, filtered aesthetic, but the muddy boots and the failed sourdough and the days that don’t go to plan.

local is everything

Supporting local makers, growers, and small businesses is at the heart of how I live and how I shop. Community matters more than convenience.

words have power

Whether I’m writing for myself or for others, I believe language shapes how we see the world. Good writing can change minds, build trust, and tell the stories that need to be told.

family first, always

Everything I do is built around being present for Livi and the life we are building together in the Irish countryside. That will never change.

also building

beyond this space, I’m co-founding something exciting.

Alongside this personal space, I am co-founder of cúpla, a creative marketing agency built for small businesses who want to grow without losing their soul.

cúpla offers the full suite of marketing services — copywriting, content strategy, social media, brand direction, email marketing, photography, videography, and website design — all under one roof, with the same values that drive everything I do here.

If you’re a small business looking for that kind of support, you can find us over at cupla.ie.
